Hello everyone! My name is Jason Sun, I’m 13 years old,and I’m originally from China. I spent my elementary school years there before moving to Massachusetts, USA, for middle school. I am currently studying at Hillside School, where I’ve been able to grow both academically and personally.
From a young age, I’ve been fascinated by creativity, engineering, and invention. My journey started with small DIY projects—like building a simple sweeping robot out of toy car motors and cotton swabs. Over time, my curiosity led me to more challenging experiments, including rockets powered by homemade reactions, mechanical arms of different complexities, and even side-window devices inspired by car wipers. Recently, I’ve been exploring aerial robotics and designed my own VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft, a project that combines my love for drones and aviation technology.
Sports also play an important role in my life. I’ve been playing baseball for several years, which has taught me perseverance, teamwork, and leadership. More recently, I started learning squash and lacrosse—two sports that challenge me in new ways and keep me motivated to push my limits on the field and the court.
At Hillside, I also enjoy taking on leadership opportunities, whether through clubs, team projects, or community activities. For me, every new challenge—whether in science, sports, or school life—is an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to turn imagination into something real.

How I Am Doing This….
I build these projects out of curiosity and a love for creating. Each experiment teaches me new skills and pushes me to solve problems in creative ways. For me, turning ideas into reality is the best way to learn, grow, and make a difference.
